Noel Donnellan is from the West of Ireland. During an earlier, much shorter career as a mechanical design engineer, he made a life changing decision to embrace life and work with passion and desire.
He decided to dedicate his working life to the creative realm of specialist interior decoration, primarily with paint. He took the first steps in his artisan vocation in 2003 at the world renowned Institut supérieur de peinture Van Der Kelen et Logelain academy in Brussels, and more recently honed his skills at Ecole d’Art Mural de Versailles, Paris. Noel has the privilege of being the first Irish person to study in both academies. Since then, he has collaborated with internationally acclaimed interior designers and architects.
Noel’s techniques include a multitude of specialist decorative finishes such as; faux marble, wood graining, glazing, patina, gilding, murals, trompe l’oeil, ceilings, grisaille, friezes, hand painted kitchens and furniture.
Today Noel has a large portfolio of work showcasing his use of a broad spectrum of decorative paint techniques. He thrives on the variety and the limitless range of possibilities in his creations. Noel sees the potential for transformation in every room, however understated or dramatic.
His work has taken him to Dublin, Glasgow, London, Antwerp and Brussels, and he looks forward to new projects even further afield.
Noel Donnellan is an accredited decorative artist listed on the Irish Georgian Society’s traditional building and conservation skills register of practitioners Dublin, Ireland and New York, U.S.A.
